CERAMIC PRODUCTION

COOPERATIVA ARCOBALENO

Artistic ceramics

We have long-standing and consolidated experience in the production and decoration of high-quality ceramic items, created using manual techniques and coated with unique glazes and decorations, under the guidance of our expert ceramicists trained at the Faenza School  and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.

Within the Bentivoglio workshop, it is possible to carry out all the stages of ceramic processing and restoration.

These are unique pieces or limited edition products, all handmade.

Our production includes: plates, mugs, home accessories, plant vases, event souvenirs, representative objects, devotional plaques, and house numbers.

Ocarinas and whistles

With our experience in working with terracotta and our desire to expand production, combining our social mission with local tradition, we have started producing ocarinas following the Emilian tradition.

Thanks to the support of the Municipality of Bentivoglio, we have begun a productive collaboration with the Il Temporale Association of Bentivoglio and with Emiliano Bernagozzi, concert performer, ocarina player, and artistic director of the Gruppo Ocarinistico Budriese, currently the most famous ocarina septet in the world.

In the classic Budriese style, the ocarinas we produce in our laboratory are made from terracotta, entirely hand-crafted using plaster molds, which are assembled together to form the body of the instrument.

The blowing nozzle is then applied, and the finger holes are created before firing, when the clay is leather-hard, in order to proceed with the initial tuning, which will then be refined once the firing is complete.

Our production includes the following ocarinas:

Do1/1SC, Sol2/2SG, Do3/3AC, Sol4/4AG, Do5/5BC, Sol6/6BG, and Do7/7CBC.

The first three ocarinas have an average range of an eleventh, while the larger ocarinas, namely the fourth through seventh, have a range of a ninth.

Through compound fingering, it is possible to obtain the entire chromatic scale, ranging from the lowest sound on the instrument (achieved by closing all the finger holes) to the highest sound (produced by blowing into the instrument with all the finger holes open).
